Reaching those affected by leprosy.

Leprosy is a bad word for so many people and societies in this world, and for most people who JMHA come into contact with, its something to be scared of. JMHA have a ministry amoung  lepers in thier area that is demonstrating the love of God in very practical ways.leprosy update

In India, leprosy is commonly considered a curse to the affected person and their family. When a person is affected by leprosy, they can be rejected by their family and social circle. They are made to leave their villages and live in government provided compounds. They will not be appointed by other people for jobs. They will be considered as cursed and rejected. They are not allowed to travel by bus. They are not allowed to take water from the Govt or public water pipes. Even in the hotels, they are not permitted.

By showing true love and acceptance, and helping them to meet their needs, JMHA's aim is to bring transformation into thier society and awareness about them to the public and to reach them for Christ by showing his love.

lepersSo what does JMHA do to practically serve lepers?

1.Take effort to appoint two full time pastors to minister to them and counsel them.
2.Try to support their children's needs of food and education.
3.To make a separate village for lepers with a church building and small level houses for them, where they can worship God and live together happily.
4.To start a evening meal centre, to feed them at least a meal per day, to those have not even a single fingers on their hand to work or a leg to walk.
5.To provide for them cows, by which they can live, selling the milk or to help them to start any work as per their health condition and need.
6.To set up a small hospital for their many healthcare needs.
7.To stand with them to have their rights as just like other people, by creating awareness of their plight.

We serve lepers based in their own villages, hospitals and Government leper colonies.
